Srinagar, Feb 14: Police today claimed to have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered large quantity of contraband from them.
A police spokesman said on a tip off provided by public, three drug peddlers from Sher-Garhi area who were identified as Waseem Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Majeed Sheikh of Tankipora, Shaheed Gunj, Fayaz Ahmad Makroo son of Bashir Ahmad Makroo of Court Road and Abdul Rashid Sofi son of Mohammad Yousuf Sofi of Old Chanpora Taki Mohalla were arrested and a large quantity of Codeine Phosphate bottles recovered from them.
“A case FIR number 10/2015 under Section 8/22 NDPS Act has been registered against the peddlers in police station Sher Garhi and investigation has been taken up,” the spokesman siad.
