Chhari Mubarak reaches Chandanwari

JAMMU, July 30: Holy Mace of Lord Shiva (Chhari Mubarak) today left Pahalgam base camp and reached Chandanwari for night halt even as 2843 pilgrims today performed darshan of holy Ice Lingam of Lord Shiva at Shri Amarnath ji shrine, taking total yatra on 36th day to 6,13,915.
Led by Mahant Depender Giri of Dashnami Akhara, the holy mace started its journey from base camp of Pahalgam in Anantnag district this morning after performing all rituals. It was accompanied by a large number of Sadhus and devotees. Chanting ‘Bum Bum Bhole’ and `Har Har Mahadev’, the Chhari Mubarak reached Chandanwari this evening amid tight security arrangements.
The holy mace would have night halt at Chandanwari and start its onward journey tomorrow morning for Sheshnag. It would have night halt at Sheshnag on July 31 and Panjtarni on August 1.
The Chhari Mubarak would reach holy cave shrine of Lord Shiva on August 2 when the annual 39 days pilgrimage would conclude on the occasion of Sharavan Purnima coinciding with Raksha Bandhan.
The Chhari Mubarak would return to Panjtarni on August 2 itself on way back to Pahalgam.
Today, 2843 pilgrims performed darshan at holy cave shrine of Amarnath ji taking total number of yatris to 6,13,915.
A total of 942 pilgrims today left for the cave shrine. While 572 yatris left from Baltal, 370 left from Nunwan, Pahalgam for darshan of the Ice Lingam.
From Jammu, the lowest ever batch of 36 pilgrims left for the base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal. They included 26 men, six women and four children.
