UDHAMPUR, Jan 24: In its continued programme of supporting the flood victims in its own capacity, All India Kashmir Samaj, (AIKS) visited a village, Saddal, at Panjar in district Udhampur- the village that is adopted by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister in PMO. AIKS team led by its former President, Moti Kaul distributed Gas stoves, Solar Lamps and warm clothes to the affected families.
AIKS started the relief measures soon after the flood fury hit the Valley as well as Jammu province. Earlier in the first phase the Samaj provided the help to the community members living in the Valley followed by the second phase. In Jammu AIKS distributed relief to the flood affected victims of Phalain Mandal. The families who have shifted to Panjar in camps were also been given a help from AIKS. Thanking the Jammuites for their benevolent help in the early stage of our displacement, it is our duty to help now the affected families of Jammu, said Kaul.
Later, Moti Kaul said that AIKS is committed to help the community members who are in dire need of help as usual. ‘Our plans to strive for the help and give relief to our own community members will be redoubled’. ‘AIKS is committed to continue the struggle for the welfare of the community. We have done much on the ground for last 25 years but we are committed to extend the same in the coming years also with renewed zeal’. Kaul also thanked Kashmir Oversees Association for their practical support. He also complimented Kashyap Kashmiri Sabha Gurgaon, Kashmiri Sevak Samaj Faridabad, Kashmir Welfare Association Noida and Kashmiri Pandit Sabha Jammu for their concern and active role.
Dr Jitendra Singh while complimenting AIKS said that such philanthropic mind has proved a lighthouse and has impressed him much. He also expressed the hope that AIKS will continue to support such cause. Singh said that NGOs should also come forward and lend a helping hand in this noble cause.
A K Raina, vice president, AIKS,  Aryan Ramesh, secretary AIKS and Deepak Bhat, a social activist from Pune also accompanied Mr Kaul.
