JAMMU, July 29: The Employees Joint Action Committee Leh (EJAC) and the Kargil district body (EJAC) of the employees have joined hands with the joint platform of Jammu Kashmir Employees and Workers United Front.
Leader of the EJAC–R, Ram Kumar Sharma in a press statement here said that during his extensive visit to Leh and Kargil during last week, the EJAC faction from district Leh merged with their united platform and EJAC Kargil joined as independent unit in the united platform. He said a state level meeting of the representatives of the EJAC-R was held at Srinagar in which a Central Committee members including he himself, Rafiq Khaniyari, Sayeda Ladakhi, KA Diwani, Javed Ahmed, Balwan Singh Jamwal, Babu Hussain Malik and others participated.
The meeting chalked out the strategy about the broader unity and decided to dissolve JCC. It was stressed in the meet that no one will be allowed to use the name of that platform. In the convention a new platform with the name and style of J&K Employees and Workers United Front was announced. The By-laws of the new body were also approved by nearly 3000 delegates during the convention.
It was stressed upon the Government to implement the agreements of 19-2-2009, 14-5-2010 and 15-9-2011 in letter and spirit about the agreed demands of the employees which included release of 6th Pay Commission arrears, enhancement retirement age, regularization of daily rated and consolidated workers, benefit of 6th Pay Commission to all the PSU workers and removal of pay anomalies of employees of clerical cadre.
