JAMMU:
Security forces today busted a militant hideout and recovered cache of arms and ammunition, including Chinese grenades and motor-bombs in bordering Poonch district.
“Police and Security Forces today thwarted a militant plot to carry out terror strikes by effecting recovery of Motor Bombs besides Grenades and arms and ammunition from the hideout during a
search operation in the Tatakuti area near Hilkaka in Surankote tehsil of Poonch district,” official spokesman here said.
He said based on a tip-off, search was launched in Tatakuti area and the suspected area was cordoned off. A hideout was located and led to recovery of explosives and ammunition which were hidden in a plastic bucket in the ground.
The recoveries included two UBGL,two Chinese Grenades, one AK magazine, 103 Pika rounds, 51 AK rounds, one Binocular, two Motor Bombs, one ICOM wireless set battery, four Remote Control IEDs, one local made IEDs and blue plastic bucket with lid in which all explosive and ammunition was hidden .
“The busting of the hideout has succeeded in derailing the nefarious designs of the terrorists and their supporters,” he added. (AGENCIES)
