Universal Construction Machinery and Equipment Limited today announced the launch of its ninth ‘Universal Exclusive’ store in the country at Secunderabad, near here.
Addressing a press conference here, Universal Construction Machinery and Equipment Limited Managing Director Ranjit More said to expand its retail format to all major citis in India, the company is opening ‘Universal Exclusive’ store in the city to cater to the ever growing infrastructure needs of South India.
At the store, the customer will get all the equipment at one single point and also get after sales service, Mr More said.
‘Its retail format business has been divided into three initiatives—Universal Exclusive stores, Universal Constore and Universal Signature stores.
Universal Exclusive stores will house all Universal brands and will be run by the franchiess, he said that these would be opened in Metros as well as Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
‘Speaking on the expansion plans in South India, Mr More said that there were a lot of infrastructure projects coming up in South India. Universal has a strong presence with about 60 per cent market share for products like reversible mixers.’
To further augment the sales, Mr More said ‘We will be opening exclusive stores in Chennai, Cochin and Bangalore’.
The company is planning to expand its retail format to cities like Srinagar and Jaipur in next two to three months and will launch a total of 35 stores in next two years.
The company had three manufacturing facilitis at Shivare, Shindewadi in Pune and Rudrapur in Uttaranchal, Mr More said adding the company is exporting construction equipment to over 45 countries.
