VC JU inaugurates video conferencing facility, scholars lab at Business School

JAMMU, July 27: In an impressive and well attended function, Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, inaugurated the video conferencing facility and the newly created computer lab for the research scholars at The Business School, University of Jammu, here today.
While inaugurating the facility, Prof Ishar had a long chat with the scholars of The Business School through video conferencing and had an interaction with them to enquire about their well being.
Prof Ishar, the chief guest on the occasion, while speaking lavished praise on the functioning of the Department and said that The Business School is one of the front runners among all the departments in Jammu University with regard to its functioning. He called upon the students and the faculty members to make use of the video conference facility to interact and share knowledge with the experts in various parts of the country and other nations.
He said that Video Conferencing provides an opportunity to learn about the happenings going on in the world, without spending much time and money, adding that the facility shall be useful in connecting the MBA students in Kathua and Bhaderwah Campuses with The Business School.
Earlear, Prof Neelu Rometra, Director, The Business School, University of Jammu and Rector, Kathua Campus, in her welcome address described the Video Conferencing at The Business School as the first step towards globalization.
She said that installation of Video Conferencing facility at the Business School is one of the prominent initiatives with regard to taking the department to great heights, adding that Prof MPS Ishar and the former Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, Prof Varun Sahni have been the guiding forces to her in establishing the facility at the School. She said these initiatives have been taken keeping in view the networking needs, so as to promote academics and collaborative research within and across the nations.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Prof Neelam Saraf, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof Desh Bandhu Gupta, Director, College Development Council and Dean Business Studies, Prof Rekha Chowdhary, Dean Research Studies, Prof Manoj Dhar, Controller of Examination, Prof BC Sharma, Dean Studies Placement, Prof Versha Mehta and Jai Kumar Sharma, OSD to VC.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr Parikshat Singh Manhas, Associate Professor.
Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu along with his team of officials paid a visit to various sections and offices of the examination wing of the University.
Prof Manoj K Dhar, the Controller of Examination apprised Vice-Chancellor about working of the sections of the examination.
Prof Ishar after having inspection of the section interacted with the Branch Officers, Section Officers, Senior Assistants, Junior Assistants and the allied staff to review the situation.
The Vice-Chancellor desired that more space should be provided to the examination wing so as to provide better facilities to the non-teaching staff.
He passed directions to concerned sections for installation of water coolers and allied facilities, besides various proposals regarding improvement in the evaluation system including coding and decoding process and the colour scheme for Ph D thesis of various faculties were also discussed in detail.
The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by Prof Naresh Padha, Registrar, Jaikumar Sharma, OSD to Vice-Chancellor, Dr Jatinder Khajuria, Joint Registrar, Executive Engineer, Dr Dharminder Khajuria, Dy Registrar and other officials of the University.
