RAJOURI, Dec 12: Former Minister and MLA Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Khan has alleged that BJP was dividing people on the communal and religious lines for grabbing vote bank.
Addressing series of public meetings at Dabrote, Saaj, Rajdhani, Khablan and Thannamandi the Congress candidate from Rajouri, sought votes for him. He alleged that BJP had been pursuing agenda of communal politics to divide people, stands well exposed before the public. BJP leaders have failed to provide welfare Government to people at the Centre just because of their hollow slogans.
Mr Khan said that BJP is befooling the people as they have done nothing at the Central level even after six months of their leadership, before which they were making tall claims. He reiterated that BJP is dividing people on the name of religion & caste and its ministers are using derogatory remarks for the minority community. Khan said Congress being secular always remained impartial to all the section of the society. He said those who claim today for development, must answer the public for their absence for the last six years. Khan said that Congress has the conviction and commitment to defeat the divisive agenda of BJP and for speedy development, communal harmony, a better people shall vote in favour of Congress.
Congress legislator said that people of the region are reposing their faith in Congress party as the regional parties by their narrow, sectarian and region-centric agenda have always sharpened the gaps within the State, thus giving a chance to the communal forces to promote their divisive agenda. Khan accepted that some developmental issues are yet to be addressed, but the developmental works which were executed in various areas of constituency made notable outputs for the welfare of public.
The party leaders who spoke on the occasion included Molvi Bashir Chowdhary, Sarpanch Qayoom Mirza, Mohd Shafi Dar, Haji Farooq,Iftiqar Ahmed, Farooq Khan, Saleem Khan and Moulvi Gulzar.
