NAGROTA, Dec 10: Saying that rhetoric was no substitute to development, Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana today asserted that Nagrota is poised to set new parameters of inclusive development and progress on all fronts.
“Apart from development, we have been working towards seeking a better life for people in terms of creating opportunities of progress for all, employment for the young people and empowerment of women and other segments of the society”, Mr Rana said while addressing several election meetings at Pounthal and Aithem Panchayats.
Mr Rana, National Conference candidate for the constituency, said that initiatives taken in recent years have changed the perception of people towards governance thus replacing cynicism by optimism. Now the people are encouraged to spell out their developmental needs with firm belief to get these translated into reality, he said, adding that major thrust during the past seven years has remained to meet the immediate requirements of people across the constituency.
“As a result of concerted efforts, Nagrota is at the threshold of change and complete make over”, the Provincial President said, adding that this has unnerved the opponents.
“Left with no agenda on the face of multifaceted development, inimical elements in a fit of desperation were now indulging in rhetoric and hollow promises”, he said and appreciated the people for not giving any heed to their machinations. He said the development craving people of Nagrota have set an agenda for themselves, which they are pursuing with a sense of commitment in order to seek quality life for themselves.
He said the resolve of people is getting strengthened with each passing day as they feel empowered to take their own decisions. He said developmental boom has caused gloom among those who failed to deliver. “They stand isolated for their betrayal to public trust and incompetence in meeting their expectations”, Mr Rana said and vowed to restore back their faith in the chosen representatives by devoting himself to accomplishing the mission of transforming the constituency.
The Provincial President hoped that the people will continue to remain steadfast in their commitment to achieving the set goals. He lauded the unique enthusiasm in the party cadre and said their unflinching support to the larger cause of Nagrota will make easy the journey for progress and prosperity. He said joining of the people from different walks of life in the grand march of development in Nagrota has further strengthened his resolve to give a big push to development.
Optimistic about big win for National Conference, Mr Rana said, history stands testimony to the fact that the party has has emerged stronger in the midst of challenges and, “we are confident to emerge victorious in the ongoing elections and serve the people with renewed vigour.
