Tour operators, Rajput Sabha delegation call on Governor

JAMMU, Dec 9: A delegation of Federation of Associations of Tour Operators of Jammu region led by Rajesh Gupta met N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
The delegation put forth suggestions to augment the tourism potential of the State including extending the validity of package of incentives for the tourism industry; establishment of an alternate leisure destination in Jammu; exploitation of tourism potential of Chenab valley; promotion of religious, adventure, medical, heli and golf tourism in J&K; involvement of the bodies of tour operators in ticket allocation for Katra-Sanjhi Chhat Helicopter Services; consultative role for Shri Amarnathji Yatra Helicopter Service Providers for appointing authorised agents for helicopter ticketing; rail ticket reservation for trains reaching and departing J&K to facilitate last minute bookings; cap on the prices of air tickets for flights arriving and departing to and from Jammu, Srinagar and Leh airports to maintain the package costs.
The Governor advised the delegation to also prepare a blue print of the infrastructural requirements in the Jammu region, to enable boosting the tourism industry in the State. He assured the delegation to take up their demands with the concerned State and the Central Government authorities.
A delegation of Shri Amar Kashatriya Rajput Sabha led by its President Narayan Singh also met Mr. Vohra.
The delegation apprised the Governor about their demands, which included development of Shri Mata Choumanda Devi Shrine in Ramban district, grant of reservation to economically weaker sections of all the communities and installation of a statue of Maharaja Gulab Singh ji at the Kunjwani chowk.
The Governor observed that the delegation’s demands would be taken up with the concerned authorities.
The delegation comprised Bishan Singh, general secretary of the Sabha; Pavitar Singh; M.S. Jamwal, Capt.(Retd.) Inder Singh; and Rangil Singh among others.
