KP bodies feel relieved with Delhi Govt decision, demand hike in relief

JAMMU, June 3: Various Kashmiri Pandit organisations today said that by announcing Amnesty Scheme for Kashmir migrants a long pending demand of the displaced people putting up in Delhi NCR has been solved.
Panun Kashmir (PK) has welcomed the decision of the Delhi Government to extend and implement the One-Time Amnesty Scheme for displaced families receiving relief assistance. The organization described the initiative as a humane and pragmatic response to several longstanding concerns of the displaced Kashmiri Hindu community.
Dr. Agnishekhar, convenor of PK , stated that the decision reflects a deeper understanding of the unique circumstances under which Kashmiri Hindus continue to live in exile.
Dr. Agnishekhar further pointed out that PK has already submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India seeking enhancement of relief for displaced Kashmiri Hindu families both in Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. He stated that the present relief structure has not kept pace with the rising cost of living and the prolonged nature of displacement and therefore requires urgent revision.
Bhushan Lal Bhat, coordinator, Grievance Cell, PK, stated that many displaced families had suffered due to clerical and procedural discrepancies beyond their control and that the present decision would bring long-awaited relief to numerous affected households.
Bebooji Zutshi, coordinator Jammu, the Government’s allocation of Rs 30 crore in the 2026-27 budget is a reflection of its commitment towards displaced Kashmiri families.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) while expressing its satisfaction over the decision said this way the migrants putting up in NCR and dependent on cash assistance have been provided a big relief. He also demanded hike in monthly cash relief.
BJP KDD president, Rajiv Pandita, Chand Ji Bhat, Prabhari, H L Bhat, Seh Prabhari, general secretary, Moti Lal Bhat and others have said that this decision shows the BJP leadership’s commitment towards the welfare of Kashmiri migrants. They expressed the hope that Union Home Ministry will also enhance the monthly cash relief of displaced people keeping in view the hike in prices.
