LOS ANGELES, May 31: Actors Shalom Brune-Franklin and Jimmy O Yang turned latest additions to the star cast of Netflix series “The Roman”.
The drama series features Oscar Isaac and Betty Gilpin and revolves around a Las Vegas casino business, which is a modernised but still dangerous version of the legendary city. At the centre of which stands Robert “Bobby Red” Redman (Isaac), president of the hottest hotel casino in town, who has to make some long odds moves to try and secure his position and take more ground.
It is created by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, according to the entertainment news outlet Deadline.
Brune-Franklin is known for roles in BBC’s “Line of Duty”, thriller “The Tourist”, and Netflix’s “Baby Reindeer”, among others. She will essay the role of Jessica Christine “JC” Griffin. An alert and ambitious rising star at the casino, JC serves as a vital host and fixer, managing the whims of high rollers while harbouring.
O Yang has featured in projects such as HBO’s “Silicon Valley”, hit film “Crazy Rich Asians”, and the hit Netflix romantic comedy “Love Hard”, among others. He will essay the role of Rich Tzu, a sophisticated, Eton-educated executive who serves as a rival to Isaac’s protagonist, Bobby, in the series.
Koppelman and Levien also serve as showrunners and are executive producing alongside Isaac, Martin Scorsese and Sikelia Productions, Julie Yorn and Rick Yorn for Expanded Media, Paul Schiff and Beth Schacter. (PTI)
