*People worst hit by power, water crisis, price rise: Bhalla

JAMMU, May 30:  Expressing  serious concern over power and water crisis in all parts of  Jammu region,  senior leaders of   JKPCC  have asked the Government to take immediate steps in this regard  besides  urging the Government to ensure people oriented development by involvement of people  through Gram Sabhas in the finalization of plans in the absence of Panchayats, ULBs, BDCs and DDCs.

Addressing a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan here today,  senior functionaries of the party Raman Bhalla, Ravinder Sharma, Ved Mahajan and Manmohan Singh said that in the absence of Panchayats, ULBs,  BDCs and DDCs the development has become MLA centric rather than people centric, as entire plans for fund’s utilization is at the discretion of MLAs ,leaving no scope for left out sections and areas which are not on the priority of concerned MLA.
They also took strong exception to the failure of Modi Government on all fronts and playing with the career of youth and students in the country, as the frequent paper leaks in prestigious tests and recruitments has become a record under BJP regime.
A Government which fails to conduct  free fair examinations and has to take help of army is utter failure and Supreme too has demanded fixing accountability to streamline the system and to learn from UPSC. The Education Minister should be sacked for playing with career of lacks of youth and students in the country. They referred to numerous recruitment scams in J&K under the UT regime.
Referring to Panchayats and ULB elections, they said that elections to all basic PRIs should be held at the earliest after finalizing reservations to OBCs on the pattern of women, SC and STs but till then this year’s plans finalizations should be inclusive and people oriented with more involvement of general public.
They questioned the stand of Government and SEC with regards to rationalization of population of different Municipal wards and the delimitation of DDC constituencies, which overlap MLA constituencies spread over to two Assembly constituencies. The system of delimitation and rationalization should be transparent and impartial under SEC, they added.
Expressing grave concern over the unprecedented price hike of all commodities, senior leaders asked the government to take immediate steps to check price rise. They also demanded review of government decision to stop recruitment process and ensure more job opportunities to unemployed youth.
