JAMMU, May 28: A meeting of All India Migrant Camps Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) was held at Jagti township under the leadership of its chairman, B K Raina in which some important issues of displaced Pandits were highlighted.
The meeting said that integration of migrants with NFSA
has created unnecessary problems among them. The people who are victims of terrorism and faced genocide are being classified with other people to dilute their migrant status, it added.
It said hundreds of people who are not physically fit and couldn’t come daily to counters for completing formalities under NFSA are unable to get ration for the months of April and May.
While speaking president of organization Desh Rattan said, that same is the case with census, if whole KP community is residing outside Valley and how it can be enumerated in census records.
He said with these tactical measures the Government wants to end the migration and deprive the community of its all claims as the community is not a vote bank.
He said the migrants are facing the drinking water problem in Jagti township for a long time and no steps are taken to settle it.
P N Jalali, R L Sharma and R N Koul the other leaders of organization said displaced people from Valley are facing multiple problems but Government is taking no steps to solve them.
Desh Ratten also rejected Heritage programme organised by some overseas and Delhi based organizations.
He also made an appeal to Prime Minster urging him to look into the genuine issues of victims of terrorism leading an exiled life for last 36 years.
Meanwhile, Alliance of Displaced KPs said that the migrants who have not submitted the NFSA integration form have not been provided the ration for the month of April and May. It said earlier the Government through a notification has said that the NAFA integration is not compulsory but mandatory. Even the higher ups in the Government last time had informed a KP delegation that if anybody will not fill NFSA it will not be any issue as he will get all facilities.
The Alliance urged the authorities to issue ration coupons to migrants as early as possible so that the people will not suffer any more.
