CLUJ holds workshop on project-based learning, DYD pedagogy

JAMMU, May 25: A two-day faculty orientation workshop on “Strengthening Project-Based Learning and Design Your Degree (DYD) Pedagogy” was organized by Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) at PSPS Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar to promote innovative and experiential learning methods in higher education.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr K S Chandrasekar, Vice Chancellor of CLUJ in the presence of Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, Director Colleges, who was the guest of honour.
Registrar CLUJ Ankur Mahajan, Dean Academic Affairs Dr Twinkle Suri, Dr Shobha Baghai and Dr Alpana Vohra were also present. Principals and faculty members from various colleges across Jammu division participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Twinkle Suri stressed the need for learner-centric and interdisciplinary education, while Principal of GCW Gandhi Nagar Dr Kulvinder Kour urged faculty members to adopt modern teaching practices that encourage creativity and critical thinking among students.
Addressing the participants, Dr Sheikh Ajaz Bashir highlighted the importance of project-based learning in making education more practical and skill-oriented.
Dr Shobha Baghai spoke on the implementation of the DYD framework and flexible learning models for holistic student development, while Dr Alpana Vohra explained how the initiative allows students to design academic pathways according to their interests and career goals.
The Vice Chancellor also unveiled the DYD initiative banner and emphasized the importance of transformative education in line with the National Education Policy 2020.
The workshop featured academic sessions by experts, including Mohammad Saleem Mir from the University of Kashmir on experiential and community-based learning under DYD.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof Vijender Sharma followed by the National Anthem.
