UDHAMPUR, May 19: In a significant action under the NDPS Act, the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class, Chenani has ordered disposal of a seized vehicle involved in an NDPS case registered at Police Station Chenani.
The order pertains to FIR No. 42/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, wherein 59.85 grams of heroin was recovered. During investigation, one Tata Truck bearing Registration No. JK05C-8263, allegedly used for transportation of contraband substance, was seized by Police Station Chenani.
Acting on an application moved by SDPO Chenani under Section 52-A of the NDPS Act, the court certified the inventory and photographs of the seized vehicle and directed the concerned Drug Disposal Committee for its disposal strictly as per law.
As per legal procedure, the seized vehicle shall now be put to public auction/disposal in accordance with rules, and the amount realized from the auction shall be deposited in the Government Treasury till final disposal of the case by the court.
