KISHTWAR, May 19: Assistant Commissioner Development, Additional District Program Coordinator MGNREGA, Kishtwar, Manoj Kumar today withheld the salaries of 13 Block Development Officers (BDOs) for dismal performance.
An order in this regard mentioned the erring BDOs as Aijaz Ahmed Butt of Block Bunjwah, Naveen Kumar of Dachhan, Sandesh Kumar of Drabshalla, Zahid Rashid of Inderwal, Ravi Kumar of Kishtwar, Irshad Ahmed Waza of Marwah, Zahid Rashid of Mughalmaidan, Subash Chander of Nagsani, Rajesh Sharma of Paddar, Rajesh Padha of Palmar, Ishtiyaq Ahmed Molvi of Thakrie, Roopesh Kumar Sharma of Trigam and Irshad Ahmed Waza of Warwan.
The order further stated that the administrative department had assigned a target of 15000 Person Days (PDs) under MGNREGA for the month of April 2026 to these BDOs but upon the perusal of MIS report, it was observed that no PDs were generated during April 2026.
The BDOs were also submitted Show Cause Notice but their replies were found vague, unsatisfactory and devoid of any substantial justification or documentary evidence explaining their failure in the implementation of MGNREGA and achievement of the assigned targets.
