RAMBAN, May 19: One person was killed and 26 others were injured after the bus they were onboard overturned near Chandial Morh in Dalwah area along Gool-Ramban road here this morning.
The ill fated bus bearing registration number JK02CU-7482 was on its way from Dharam to Ramban with 25 passengers along with the driver and the conductor.
The accident took place when the driver allegedly lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve near Chandial Morh resulting which the vehicle overturned.
The conductor, identified as Anshu Singh, son of Kuldeep Singh, resident of Pangara in Udhampur was crushed under the vehicle and he died on the spot.
Soon after the accident, cops, rescue teams and local residents rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. The injured were shifted to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Sangaldan. Click here to watch video
Officials said that 19 of the injured were referred to District Hospital Ramban for specialized treatment while seven others with minor injuries continued to receive treatment at PHC Sangaldan.
The injured admitted at District Hospital Ramban were Niki Devi, 55, wife of Shib Saran, resident of Dharam; Toshi Devi, 27, wife of Isher Dass, resident of Kantha Morh; Ghulam Mohammad, 56, son of Habibullah, resident of Dalwah; Zakir Hussain, 28, son of Jamal Din, resident of Dalwah; Irshad Hussain, 22, son of Mohammad Shafi, resident of Dalwah; Jamal Din, 22, son of Habib Mir, resident of Dalwah; Muneeba, 22, wife of Shahid, resident of Sangaldan; Ashdi Devi, 2, daughter of Isher Dass, resident of Kantha Morh; Mohammad Waseem, 12, son of Mohammad Farid, resident of Kantha Morh; Haleema, 21, wife of Shoket Ali, resident of Sumber; Fareed Ahmad, 45, son of Ahad Pachu, resident of Dharam; Naseema Begum, 52, wife of Mohammad Farid, resident of Thatarka; Abdul Ahed, 48, son of Abdul Aziz, resident of Dalwah; Abdul Rahman, 60, son of Noor Alam, resident of Dharam; Liaqat Ali, 45, son of Mehboob, resident of Dharam; Nasreen, 14, daughter of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Famrote; Mohammad Arbaz, 13, son of Farooq Ahmad, resident of Ashmar and Rubeen Begum, 40, wife of Mohammad Farooq, resident of Bhimdassa.
One critically injured passenger, Mohammad Farooq, 48, son of Abdul Aziz, resident of Bhimdassa, was referred to Government Medical College Jammu for advanced treatment.
The seven injured persons undergoing treatment at PHC Sangaldan were driver Rakesh Singh, son of Rajinder Singh, resident of Pangara-Udhampur; Sunny Singh, son of Mulkh Raj, resident of Pangara-Udhampur; Muzaffar, son of Mohammad Ismail; Shakeela Banoo, wife of Muzaffar Hussain; Zakir Hussain, son of Jamal Din, resident of Dalwah; Nasreen Banoo, daughter of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Thatarka and Rizwan, son of Gulzar Ahmad, resident of Dharam.
Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, SSP Ramban, Arun Gupta along with other officers visited District Hospital Ramban and enquired about the condition of the injured.
