KATHUA, May 18: Senior BJP leader and Seh-Prabhari Kathua Sanjay Kumar Baru today stated that party workers must take Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message on saving fuel and promoting self-reliance to every section of society.
Addressing monthly meetings of BJP Morcha office-bearers along with district president Updesh Andotra at the BJP office in Kathua, Baru said the Prime Minister has appealed to citizens to reduce unnecessary consumption of petrol, diesel and gas in view of the energy crisis caused by tensions in West Asia.
He said people should avoid unnecessary foreign travel and excessive gold purchases, adopt organic farming to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and promote the “Vocal for Local” campaign to strengthen an “Atmanirbhar Bharat”.
Baru said BJP National President Nitin Naveen has directed party leaders and workers to spread the message of “Mera Bharat-Mera Yogdan” among the public.
He urged party workers to make maximum use of public transport instead of personal vehicles and to hold meetings through virtual platforms wherever possible to cut fuel and electricity expenses.
Speaking on the occasion, Updesh Andotra asked Morcha presidents to hold preparatory and area-wise meetings at the Mandal level for upcoming programmes and elections.
He stressed that every Morcha should work actively to strengthen the party at the grassroots level ahead of the Panchayat and Urban Local Body elections.
District General Secretaries Gagan Singh, Rajesh Mehta and Harvinder Sharma, besides several Morcha presidents, prabharis, Mandal presidents and general secretaries, were also present in the meetings.
