JAMMU, May 18: Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta today visited Prem Nath Dogra Bhawan at Kachi Chawni area here and paid tribute to veteran Dogra leader Pt Prem Nath Dogra.
During his interaction with the family members of the late leader, Kavinder Gupta recalled Dogra’s contribution towards strengthening nationalist forces in Jammu and Kashmir and described him as a symbol of patriotism and public awakening.
Referring to his role in the Praja Parishad Movement, the Governor said Dogra devoted his life to nationalism, unity and the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said Dogra, popularly known as “Sher-e-Duggar”, fearlessly led the movement during a crucial period and also played an important role while serving as National President of Jana Sangh.
Kavinder Gupta said Dogra’s ideology, sacrifices and commitment towards national integration continue to inspire generations of nationalist workers and social activists across the country.
He also said the younger generation should learn about the life and ideals of leaders who dedicated themselves to the nation and society.
During the visit, the Governor appreciated the family’s continued association with public and social causes and prayed for their peace and prosperity.
