RAJOURI, May 17: A suspected mortar shell was found lying in the jungle area of Dhanaka in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district, triggering immediate action by the local police and Army authorities.
Official sources said that soon after receiving information about the suspicious explosive object, a police team rushed to the spot and secured the area. The location was properly marked, and local residents were advised to stay away from the site as a precautionary measure until the arrival of the Army’s bomb disposal experts.
Later, an expert team from the 59 Engineers Regiment of the Army reached the area and carried out the safe disposal of the suspected mortar shell in accordance with standard safety procedures.
