JAMMU, May 15: Two-day international conference on “Manoeuvring Business, Society, and Culture in the New World Order” concluded at Government SPMR College of Commerce, with an intellectually vibrant and ceremonially rich valedictory session marked by scholarly reflections, visionary deliberations, and cultural eloquence.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Prof Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University as the chief guest; Prof Ashok Aima, former Vice Chancellor of Central University of Jammu and presently Chairman of the ISTD Jammu Chapter and the Prof Hardeep Chahal, Director, ICCCR HRM, University of Jammu.
In his welcome address, Prof Sunil Gupta, Principal of the host institution, underscored the significance of academic collaborations and interdisciplinary research in addressing the complex realities of the rapidly transforming global order. He emphasized the institution’s commitment towards fostering critical inquiry, innovation, and socially responsive education aligned with national and global developmental aspirations.
In the keynote valedictory address, Prof Pragati Kumar underlined the importance of education, research, and innovation in shaping future societies and lauded the conference for providing a meaningful platform for interdisciplinary academic dialogue and sustainable global perspectives.
Addressing the gathering, Prof Hardeep Chahal highlighted the transformative role of higher education institutions in promoting ethical leadership, innovation, and sustainable societal development while emphasizing the need to balance changing socio-economic realities with cultural values and human sensitivity.
Prof Ashok Aima stressed the significance of independent thinking, intellectual freedom, and value-based education, and appreciated the organisers for conceptualising a conference theme of great contemporary relevance.
A major highlight of the conference was an engaging panel discussion conducted by Dr Ridhi Sharma. The participants in the panel discussion included Prof Simmi Dutta from GCET Jammu, Dr Sunanda Gupta from SMVDU, Dr Ashok Sharma from Bhaderwah Campus of JU and Dr Gaurav Varshney from IIT Jammu.
The conference report was presented by the Dr Jasvinder Singh. Over the two days, the conference witnessed participation of more than 250 researchers, academicians and resource persons from within the India and abroad. The brainstorming technical sessions involved eminent resource persons from the US, UK, Fiji, Malaysia and Israel, along with experts from prestigious institutions. More than 150 research scholars and academicians presented papers on diverse themes.
