JAMMU, May 15: BJP general secretary (Org), J&K and Ladakh, Ashok Koul today reiterated that his party Government at the Centre would not take any unilateral decision regarding the rehabilitation of the displaced community and would take the community into confidence before initiating any such process.
Addressing an interactive programme with displaced Kashmiri Pandits at Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra (SSK) Anand Nagar, Bohri near here organised by Party’s Kashmir Displaced District (KDD), Koul emphasized the need for consensus among various sections of the community on an acceptable rehabilitation model.
Ashok Koul listened to the concerns expressed by the participants and assured that many issues have already been taken up with the Government and would continue to be pursued vigorously, while some issues stand already resolved.
He observed that several important matters, including encroachment of immovable properties belonging to displaced persons and temples in Kashmir, bureaucratic apathy towards the displaced community, and the need for institutional protection of Hindu temples and shrines in Kashmir, require a united and democratic struggle by the community to pressurize the NC-led Government in Jammu & Kashmir for their resolution.
Moti Lal Malla, president, ASKPC and K.K. Khosa president, KP Sabha who shared dais with BJP leader also highlighted the pressing issues of the community.
The programme witnessed participation from a large number of intellectuals, heads of social and Dharmic organizations, social activists, prominent citizens, representatives of PM package employees, besides, KDD Prabhari, Chand Jee Bhat, Seh Prabhari, Hira Lal Bhat, UT Executive Members, H.K. Razdan and Sweety Koul, district office bearers, Mandal presidents and general secretaries, as well as office bearers of KDD Yuva Morcha and Mahila Morcha.
During the interaction, community representatives raised various issues concerning the displaced Kashmiri Hindu community. The participants appreciated the efforts of BJP under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and acknowledged the role of BJP KDD in consistently standing with the community through difficult times.
Among those who spoke on the occasion were Dr. Ramesh Bhat, Dr. M.T. Krishan, Dr. Sushil Watal, Chand Ji Pandita, Prof. Virender Rawal, Jai Kumar Bhat, M.K. Jalali, Bhushan Lal Bhat (Jagati), Ranjan Jyotshi, A.K. Raina, P.K. Raina. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Hira Lal Bhat, district Seh Prabhari. Moti Lal Bhat, district general secretary, welcomed the guests, while the vote of thanks was presented by Chand Jee Bhat, district Prabhari.
