SRINAGAR, May 11: The Police registered two separate FIRs against hotel and homestay owners in Srinagar for alleged violations under Section 8(23)B of the Immigration and Foreigners Act.
An official said Police Station Rajbagh registered FIR No. 20/2026 against the owners of Hotel “The Azara” located at Kursoo Rajbagh and “Mehatta Home Stay” situated in Rajbagh area of Srinagar.
The case was registered under Section 8(23)B of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, which generally pertains to alleged violations linked to mandatory verification, documentation, or reporting norms concerning foreign nationals staying in hotels, guest houses, or homestays.
In a separate action, Rajbagh Police also registered FIR No. 21/2026 under the same legal provision against a local from Gogjibagh Srinagar who is the owner of Khayabaan Homestay located in Gogjibagh area.
The official said that investigations in both cases have been initiated and further legal proceedings are underway.
