DIG Railways reviews security arrangements in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, May 7: Dupty Inspector General of Police, Railways, Zahid Naseem Manhas, today visited the Railway Police Kashmir Zonal Headquarters to review security arrangements across the Kashmir railway network.
A spokesperson said on his arrival, the DIG was welcomed with a Guard of Honour by the Kashmir Railway Police. He later chaired a high-level meeting to assess security preparedness and operational readiness in the region.
During the meeting, the spokesperson said Manhas stressed the importance of maintaining strong security along the Kashmir Railway Corridor, especially ahead of the expected increase in railway activity during the upcoming season.
He said the DIG also congratulated the officers and personnel of the Kashmir Railway Police for their successful security management of the Vande Bharat train service, calling its smooth and incident-free operation a major achievement.
He, the spokesperson said, directed officers to increase multi-agency mock drills and ensure strict implementation of security and emergency response plans to further strengthen the railway security system.
