JAMMU, May 7: With the objective of sensitizing students about cyber safety, responsible digital behaviour, cybercrime prevention and the growing threats emerging in cyberspace, Cyber Crime Investigation Centre for Excellence (CICE) in collaboration with the Crime Branch (CB) J&K today organized cybercrime awareness-cum-interaction programmes at Minto Circle School, Srinagar and Police Public School, Miran Sahib, Jammu.
The session was conducted by DySP Albeena Malik, SHO PS CICE Jammu at Police Public School, Miran Sahib, Jammu and at Minto Circle School, Srinagar, the workshop was conducted by DySP Ashiq Hussain Malik, SHO PS CICE Srinagar, DySP Nasir Syed Kirmani, DySP Arif Ahmad and Inspector Arshid Musta .
During the programme, students were sensitized about safe internet usage, cybercrime prevention, social media safety, cyberbullying, online gaming frauds, OTP scams, phishing attacks, fake social media profiles and misuse of personal information on digital platforms.
Practical safety measures, including the use of strong passwords and prompt reporting of suspicious online activities, were also shared with the participants.
Students were further made aware about the Cyber Helpline Number 1930 and the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal ( www.cybercrime.gov.in) for reporting cybercrime incidents and obtaining timely support.
