Police attaches property of drug peddler

SRINAGAR, May 3: Police today attached a residential property under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Budgam as part of its ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking.
According to the officials, the attached property is a single-storey house belonging to Shabir Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Rasool Mir, a resident of Waragam in Beerwah tehsil.
Police said the property was identified as having been acquired through proceeds of narcotics-related activities.
The attachment was carried out under Sections 68-E and 68-F of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 35/2023 registered at Police Station Beerwah.
Following the action, the property has been formally seized, and the owner has been barred from selling, leasing, transferring, or creating any third-party interest in it.
