4 injured as mini-bus rolls down

POONCH, Apr 26: Four persons were injured when a mini bus met with an accident in Sathra area of Tehsil Mandi in District Poonch today.
Official sources said that a mini-bus, bearing registration number JK12-1697 was on way from Poonch to Sawjian. When it reached Sathra, due to worst condition of road and big pothole, it went out of control and rolled down along the road side.
Four persons were injured in the accident and were shifted to SDH Mandi. They were identified as Shamim Akhter (30), wife of Mohd Farooq, resident of Sathra; Abdul Hamid (32), son of Abdul Gani, resident of Chamber ; Mohd Waseem (25), son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Bedar, Fayaz Ahmed (22), son of Zia-ud-Din resident of Sawjian. One minor namely Azoofa Mukhtar, daughter of Mukhtar Ali, resident of Loran and another woman were nervours but they were fine.
All injured were treated and kept under observation for some time. Dr Wajahat said that the condition of all injured is stable, one was referred for orthopedic consultation to District Hospital Poonch. Police has taken the cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, several residents of Mandi Tehsil expressed anger against the local administration for not repairing this road from more than last ten years. They have urged LG Manoj Sinha to intervene and direct the R&B authorities to macadamize this road.
