NEW DELHI, Apr 23: Senior BJP leader and MP Rajya Sabha, Er Gulam Ali Khatana criticized Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, alleging a deliberate political conspiracy to deny him official accommodation in Srinagar.
Khatana said the NC-Congress alliance is uneasy because Kashmiris have decisively rejected them. “Both parties misled the public for decades with hollow promises like plebiscites, turning Kashmir into a graveyard. In contrast, the BJP’s influence is growing as development reaches the grassroots,” he added.
Highlighting the shifting ground reality in the Valley, the BJP leader credited the Central Government’s strong policies. “It is through the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah that we are finally seeing stability in Kashmir,” Khatana stated, adding that their administration has successfully curbed militancy and ushered in peace after decades of unrest.
The MP said that his accommodation application, submitted in 2025, has been pending for over a year. He categorized this not as an administrative delay, but as a conscious effort to silence his tribal outreach.
