
Grand, impressive Shoba Yatra taken out in Kathua

JAMMU, Apr 19: Four-day long celebrations in connection with Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti by the Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, concluded today with Yagnopaveet ceremony of Hindu boys at a well-attended function held in the premises of the Sabha with religious fervour and enthusiasm.
Amidst Vedic rituals, the Yagnopaveet was performed by adorning sacred thread to the young boys, who were also ordained into Gayatri Mantra by scholarly Pandits.

Ved Parkash Sharma, president of the Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, its chairman Advocate P C Sharma, former JMC Commissioner Soujanya Sharma, former Deputy Commissioner B S Jamwal, NMC President Subash Shastri, senior BJP leader Chander Mohan Sharma, Sunil Sharma, M L Sharma, N C Sharma, Gurdass Sharma, Davinder Sharma (Baboo), Ramesh Sharma, Atul Pangotra, Ritiz Khajuria, Jagannath Sharma, M L Padha, B R Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Sanjiv Kerni, Krishan Lal Sharma, K L Sharma, Surinder Chowdhary, Surinder Sharma, Sri Kerni, Raman Sharma, Prem Balotra, Retired Col Adarsh Khajuria, beside representatives of various religious and social organization were also present on the occasion. The religious function was followed by a grand Bhandara.
Meanwhile, reports said that Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti was also celebrated by the Sabha units in various parts of the Jammu region.
Meanwhile, on the sacred occasion of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti, a grand and historic Shobha Yatra was organized by Shri Brahman Sabha Kathua, in which a large number of devotees from the town and nearby areas participated. The event emerged as a major spiritual and cultural attraction, reflecting deep faith among people from all walks of life.
The procession commenced with traditional rituals, prayers and chanting of Vedic Mantras at the premises of Shri Brahman Sabha, Kathua. The Yatra followed a traditional route starting from Shri Brahman Sabha Kathua and passing through Mukherjee Chowk, College Road, Shri Parshuram Ji Chowk, Dreamland Park, Captain Sunil Chaudhary Chowk, before culminating back at Shri Brahman Sabha Kathua. Throughout the route, the atmosphere remained devotional and vibrant with chanting of Vedic hymns, bhajans, and slogans in praise of Bhagwan Parshuram.
The Shobha Yatra featured beautifully decorated tableaux depicting significant episodes from the life of Bhagwan Parshuram, which became a major highlight for the devotees. Participants dressed in traditional attire, along with the rhythmic beats of drums and devotional music, added to the spiritual grandeur of the event. At several points along the route, local residents and organizations welcomed the procession with flower showers and arranged refreshments for the devotees.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma, and Jasrota MLA, Rajiv Jasrotia were present as distinguished guests.
