KATRA, Apr 18: Tightening noose around drug peddlers, Police apprehended an accused with heroin at Mata Vaishno Devi track within the jurisdiction of Police Post Banganga.
During naka checking around 1930 hours, the Police party apprehended the accused, identified as Ravi Singh, son of Jameer Singh, resident of Panasa, Tehsil Thakrakote, District Reasi. During his personal search, heroin was recovered from his possession. The accused was immediately taken into custody and the contraband substance was seized as per legal procedure.
In this regard, FIR No. 113/2026 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation has been taken up. The operation was conducted under the supervision of SHO Katra, Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao and SDPO Katra, Dr Bhishm Dubey.
