Jammu, Apr 17: Mission Shakti District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Jammu, Department of Social Welfare, J&K, in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital & Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence organised a free medical check-up camp at the Ayush Health and Wellness Centre, Kishanpur, Dansal.
The medical camp witnessed participation from Self Help Group (SHG) women associated with JKRLM, along with huge number of residents of Kishanpur and adjoining areas. Under the supervision of Dr. Yashpal Sharma ,Executive Director Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME) Kakryal, J&K an expertise team of doctors, including Dr. Ashwani Kumar (Internal Medicine), Dr. Malvika Sharma (Ophthalmology), Dr. Suksham Sharma (Obstetrics and Gynaecology), and Dr. Rohit Sharma (Orthopaedics), along with paramedical staff provided a wide range of healthcare services.
These services included health examinations, diagnostic tests, and specialist consultations. Facilities such as free mammography, X-ray, blood pressure and blood sugar testing, ECG, and medicines were provided to beneficiaries during the camp. The collaborative initiative played a significant role in enabling rural population to access essential medical services at their doorstep.
District Mission Coordinator, Mission Shakti, Shagun Manchanda, emphasised that such outreach programmes are crucial for promoting early diagnosis, preventive care, and healthcare awareness, thereby reducing the burden of untreated illnesses among community.
She highlighted that the collaboration with SMVDNS Hospital ensured the availability of specialised medical expertise, while JKRLM grassroots network facilitated effective participation of women.
