JAMMU, Apr 16: An alleged drug peddler was arrested with 8 grams of heroin-like substance from Narwal area here today.
A police official said that during routine patrolling duty, a team of Police Post Narwal, led by incharge Police Post concerned, assisted by other officials, stopped a suspicious individual, later identified as Ankush of Rajiv Nagar, Narwal for checking.
He said eight grams of heroin-like substance and Rs 2900 in cash was recovered from his possession when he was put to search.
Accordingly, the accused individual was booked in case FIR number 81/2026 under sections 8/21/22/25/27A of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bahu Fort Jammu and further investigation taken up, the police official said.
