SAMBA, Apr 14: Samba police has arrested three drug peddlers including a lady in the jurisdiction of Police Stations (PS) Vijaypur and Samba and recovered approximately 20.53 grams heroin- (Chitta) from their possession.
Police said a team of Police Station Vijaypur during vehicle checking naka at National Highway AIIMS Vijaypur, intercepted a swift car bearing Registration Number JK08E-3280 for its checking which was coming from Samba side and moving towards Vijaypur. During checking, approximately 16.61 grams of heroin- (Chitta) was recovered from the possession of two persons travelling in the vehicle, police added.
The drug peddlers identified as Sanjeev Kumar, son of Prem Chand of Haria Chak district Kathua and Malkeet Kour, wife of Sharmeet Singh of Keri district Jammu have been arrested. The contraband item along with vehicle has also been seized by the police, police said.
A case FIR No. 53/2026 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.
Police said in another incident, acting on specific information, a team of Police Station (PS) Samba intercepted a Breeza Car bearing Registration Number, JK02BV-6364 at Nud Naka for its checking which was coming from Samba side and moving towards Mansar side. During checking, approximately 3.92 grams Heroin was recovered from the possession of the driver of said car.
The drug peddler identified as Umar Ishaq, son of Mohd Ishaq of Qila Mohalla Bhaderwah, district Doda has been arrested and contraband item has been seized. The car involved in the crime has also been seized by the police.
Police said a case FIR No. 88/2026 U/S 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
