JAMMU, Apr 13: A young woman apparently ended her life by hanging from the ceiling fan inside her rented accommodation at Dhakki Hajama area here today.
The deceased has been identified as Pooja Devi (23) daughter of Ravi Mistri of Odisha at present Dhakki Hajama, Circular Road, Jammu.
Officials said the victim was spotted hanging from the ceiling fan using a scarf inside her rented accommodation around 4:20 PM by some community members, who informed the police.
Accordingly, she was taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where doctors declared her dead on arrival, they said.
According to officials, the body of the deceased woman has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem examination while inquest proceedings have been initiated to further probe into the matter.
