RAJOURI, Apr 10: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Nowshera Police achieved major success during operations conducted today as part of its sustained drive against the drug menace.
The operations were carried out by a police team from Police Station Nowshera led by SHO Nowshera, Inspector Arjun Mangotra, under the close supervision of SDPO Nowshera, Sahil Mahajan.
During the naka, two Scorpio vehicles bearing registration numbers JK11H-8838 and JK11D-3883 were intercepted at different locations. Upon search, five individuals-Wajid Khan, son of Nisar Khan hailing from Kakora, in Tehsil Manjakote; Naseem Akram, son of Mohd Akram from Rajouri; Waqar Ahmed, son of Nazir Hussain from Manjakote; Danish Choudhary, son of Mohd Fazil, resident of Govardhan Bala; and Rameez Raja, son of Nisar Hussain from Kakora-were found in possession of heroin (commonly known as chitta).
A total quantity of approximately 24 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession. All accused were arrested on the spot and the contraband was seized.
In this regard, FIR No. 67/2026 under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act and FIR No. 68/2026 under sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act have been registered at Police Station Nowshera. Further investigation in both cases is underway.
