SAMBA: Apr 10,: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers and peddlers, Samba police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ramgarh and recovered approximately 171.16 grams charas from his possession.
Police said acting on specific information, a team of Police Station (PS) Ramgarh intercepted a car bearing Registration No. JK14E-0843 at Rajpura Jattan road for its checking which was coming from Swankha side towards Balotra Chak. During checking, approximately 171.16 grams Charas was recovered from the driver of the car, police said.
The drug peddler identified as Surinder Singh, son of Ashok Kumar of Khour Salarian, tehsil Ramgarh, district Samba has been arrested and contraband item has been seized. The car involved in the crime has also been seized by the police.
A case FIR No. 23/2026 U/S 8/20/25 of the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Ramgarh and investigation started, police said.
