KISHTWAR, Apr 10: Police here today arrested an alleged habitual drug peddler and recovered approximately 8 grams of heroin-like substance from him.
Sharing details in this regard, SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh said that acting on specific information, a Naka was established at Shalimar by cops led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar, Inspector Firdous Ahmed, assisted by IC PP Shalimar, PSI Hiteshwar Singh under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Kishtwar, Dr. Ishan Gupta.
During checking of pedestrians and vehicles, cops intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK06C-5714 coming from Kishtwar and moving towards Shalimar. On checking of the vehicle and its occupant, cops recovered approximately 8 grams of heroin-like substance and the accused was immediately arrested and the vehicle seized.
The arrested accused was identified as Muzaffar Hussain alias Dagga, son of Mehooj Ud Din, resident of Shakti Nagar, Kishtwar.
In this regard, FIR No. 77/2026 under relevant sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
