March 2026 achieved a growth of 37.04 % YoY: FADA

JAMMU, Apr 10: The total retail in J&K was 19,963 in March 2026 as compared to 14,567 in March 2025 thereby registering a growth of 37.04 % YoY.
The 2-Wheeler category witnessed a growth of 56.91% at 10,441 units in March 2026, as compared to 6,654 units in March 2025.
The 3 Wheeler category witnessed a growth of 31.90% at 1,352 units in March 2026, as compared to 1,025 units in March 2025.
The Commercial Wheeler category witnessed a growth of 3.02% at 1,230 units in March 2026, as compared to 1,194 units in March 2025.
The Construction Equipment category witnessed a downfall of -24.19% at 47 units in March 2026, as compared to 62 units in March 2025.
The Passenger Vehicle category witnessed a Growth of 24.21% at 6,563 units in March 2026, as compared to 5,284 units in March 2025.
The Tractor Vehicle category witnessed a downfall of -5.17% at 330 units in March 2026, as compared to 348 units in February 2025.
In a statement issued, Sanjay Aggarwal, Chairperson, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) said that reflecting on March 2026 Auto Retail performance in J&K, “March 2026 achieved a growth of 37.04 % YoY.
Aggarwal said that March 2026 has been a reasonably encouraging month for vehicle retailers across Jammu & Kashmir.
We have observed steady demand across most categories, particularly in passenger vehicles, which continue to drive growth in the region.
He said that the financial year-end played a crucial role in boosting retail numbers, with attractive offers and improved product availability drawing customers to showrooms.
In addition, improved rural sentiment and better accessibility to financing have contributed to incremental demand in the two-wheeler segment.
