PRF secures first prize at Dr P D Sethi National HPTLC awards

JAMMU, Apr 10: The Patanjali Research Foundation (PRF) once again brought national recognition by securing the First Prize in the Private Industry Category at the prestigious Dr P D Sethi National HPTLC Awards 2025.
This marks the second consecutive year that the organisation has achieved this distinction, underlining its consistent excellence in scientific research.
The award was conferred in recognition of the foundation’s exceptional research on Amla (Phyllanthus emblica) seed oil, extracted using the SCFE technique.
The study highlighted the oil’s strong antimicrobial and antibiofilm properties, showcasing its potential for broader applications in health and wellness.
Speaking on the achievement, Acharya Balkrishna stated that the honour is not merely an award but a reflection of years of dedication, scientific rigour and the unwavering commitment of Patanjali’s researchers.
He emphasized that the recognition acknowledges the relentless efforts of scientists working toward safe, effective, and accessible solutions for global well-being.
Lead Scientist Dr Anurag Varshney described the award as a significant milestone, noting that the Dr P D Sethi Awards represent a distinguished platform celebrating excellence in analytical chemistry across the country.
He added that winning the award consecutively highlights the organisation’s strong scientific foundation.
In addition to this achievement, the foundation is also being honoured with the “Award of Merit” by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at the 10th International “Waste to Worth” Conference and the 4R Awards 2025 edition, based on the same innovative research.
Notably, the research work has gained international recognition, with both studies published in the reputed journal Applied Food Research by Elsevier.
