KATHUA, Apr 10: SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma – today conducted a review meeting of NDPS Cases 2025-26 at District Police Office here.
The meeting was attended by Additional SP Kathua, Sunil Kesar, SP Operations, Kathua, Brijesh Sharma, SP Operations, Upper Kathua, Prithpal Singh (through virtually),SDPO Border, Dheeraj Katoch, DySP Hqrs Kathua, Ravinder Singh, DySP DAR, Kathua, Bhagwan Das along with SDPO Billawar, Neeraj Padyar, SDPO Basohli , Om Parkash, DySP PC Bani, Ameen Bhat, DySP Operations, Malhar, Sushil Kumar as well as all SHOs of Kathua district (through virtually).
During the meeting, SSP Kathua took a detailed review of NDPS cases registered during the year 2025-26. The main focus in the meeting was on persons arrested, quantity recovered, bailed out/conviction rates, NDPS cases under Investigation , Government employees Involved in NDPS cases, property attachments, bank account/ amount freezed, persons detained under PIT NDPS, linkages established, number of visits to Drug Hotspots, drug awareness camps held at educational institutions, Hotspot CCTV/ other vital CCTV checks, Inspection done at Chemist Shops and RC/DL cancelled etc cancelled during the period.
SSP Kathua further reviewed the disposal rates and the overall performance of the investigating officers. Moreover, stress was laid on expediting the investigation of NDPS cases, ensuring timely filing of charge sheets, and improving conviction rates.
She also emphasized the importance of proactive policing, increased patrolling, and maintaining close coordination with the public to curb criminal activities. Directions were also issued to strengthen intelligence gathering and ensure strict action against drug peddlers and other anti-social elements.
Special focus was also laid on ensuring effective implementation of crime prevention measures and prompt redressal of public grievances. Officers were instructed to maintain a people-friendly approach and uphold transparency and accountability in policing.
