JAMMU, Apr 7: Ahead of upcoming Amarnath Yatra, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) here today protested against the restrictions on Shiv Khori route.
The protesters warned that if the restrictions are not removed within seven days then Shiv Sena will launch a movement. In this regard, Shiv Sena leaders also submitted a memorandum to the Lieutenant Governor.
Shiv Sena president, Manish Sahni said that Amarnath Yatra is approaching and lakhs of devotees from across the country will be arriving in Jammu and a significant number of these may also visit Shiv Khori for Darshan.
“At such a crucial time, continuing restrictions on the route is not only causing inconvenience and fear among the devotees but is also sending a negative message across the country,” he said.
He stated that following the terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims on June 9, 2024, the administration imposed restrictions on Katra-Reasi-Ransoo route.
“Even after more than a year, continuation of these restrictions is beyond understanding,” the Shiv Sena leader said. Sanjay Bhatt, Raj Singh, Aditya Mahajan, Jony Kumar and others were also present on this occasion.
