RAJOURI, Apr 7: In a continued crackdown against drug trafficking, Rajouri Police achieved success by apprehending a drug peddler during routine patrolling in the Darhali area.
Reports said a police party from Police Station Rajouri during patrolling in Darhali area apprehended one individual identified as Imtiaz Hamid, son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Dodasan Bala, Thanamandi.
During his personal search approx 5.5 gms of heroin was recovered from his possession. The accused was immediately taken into custody and the contraband was seized on the spot in accordance with due legal procedures.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 156/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at the concerned Police Station. Further investigation is underway to establish backward and forward linkages of the drug network.
