CRPF jawan dies as gun goes off

POONCH, Apr 7: A CRPF jawan died after his rifle went off inside a camp in Poonch area on Tuesday.

Officials said that the jawan identified as Abdul Gani of 38th CRPF battalion , was deployed in Poonch area. His gun accidentally went off when he was in Sentry duty at the Campt. With serious injury, he was taken to hospital where he was declared as dead. The police rushed to the spot and later to hospital.
The deceased was later identified as Abdul Gani, son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Chakdiyalan in Samba. The Police has registered case at Police Station Poonch and started investigation.
Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Poonch, Dr Shafiq said that the hospital received dead body of the jawan. After performing legal formalities, it was later handed over to the family members for last rites.
