ADKUF appeals Govt to settle burning issues of Pandits

JAMMU, Apr 7: All Displaced Kashmiri United Front (ADKUF) today appealed the Government to settle the burning issues of displaced Pandits.
During a meeting here, it said for over three decades since 1990, the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community has been enduring immense social, economic, and political hardships. Despite repeated appeals to both the Central Government and the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, seeking a compassionate and meaningful resolution to their long-pending issues, the community continues to struggle for justice, dignity, and rightful rehabilitation, the Forum added.
The Forum, while highlighting the issues confronted the community demanded decisive action on the key issues which included enhancement of relief for displaced families, comprehensive and dignified rehabilitation policy, strengthening and expansion of employment packages, removal of illegal encroachments on community and private properties, passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill for protection of religious heritage and simplification of NAFSA procedures for displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
The Forum further demanded urgent renovation and upgradation of TRT accommodations, inclusion of displaced Kashmiri Pandit voters in JMC and other civic body electoral rolls until their safe return to the Valley and addressing several other long-pending concerns affecting the community.
The Forum urged the Government to adopt a “healing touch policy”, ensuring justice, security, and dignity for the displaced community that has suffered for decades.
The meeting was held at the party Head Office, Durga Nagar, and was chaired by its president, P. L. Swadeshi. Representatives of ASKPC, SSDYS – the mother organization of Kashmiri Pandits – also participated in the deliberations.
