JAMMU, Apr 7: The birth anniversary of Sri Manglishwar Bairav was celebrated with full religious fervor and great devotion here, today.
In this connection a grand function was organized by Sri Manglishwar Asthapan Prabandhak Committee, (SMAPC), Sirnoo Monghama of Pulwanma district at Geeta Bhawan Muthi in which a large number of devotees participated and paid obeisance to deity.
From early in the morning , scores of Bhairav devotees thronged Gita Bhawan Mandir Complex in Muthi – the venue of the celebrations . A traditional Birthday Puja was the highlight on the occasion which was performed jointly by all the devotees who later sought blessings from their ‘local deity’.
Reciting Mahimna- Stotram and terming it as central to Shiva Bhakti – Baskar Nath Bhat , president SMAPC explained how worship of Shiva by Pushpadanta was a tribute of unique nature.
Mahant Sri Govind Ji Goudia Math Jammu, Radesh Dass Ji gave an eloquent discourse on the holy ‘Bhagwat Puran’. The devotees were enlightened by his presentation which revolved around the need to take pride in living a meaningful Sanatan way of life.
Rajinder Pandita – a passionate preacher about learning of Sri Bhagwat Geeta, impressed upon the devotees to join the Geeta classes. He offered to provide every support about the same that is available free – both in physical or virtual modes.
Political activist and general secretary SMAPC, Sunil Bhat explained the necessity of harmonizing efforts within the community for undertaking rebuilding of destroyed temples and Sanatan properties back in Kashmir. In this regard, he informed the devotees about initiatives taken by SMAPC regarding the renovation of Sri Monglishwar Asthapan at Sirnoo Monghama in Pulwama. He was optimistic that concerned agencies would take up the required work shortly.
Dilip Ji ‘Tanha’ kept the devotees engrossed by singing soulful Bhajans on the occasion. Prasada was distributed at the culmination of the function.
Birthday Pooja was also held at the Asthapan site in Sirnoo Monghama in Kashmir today. Devotees , presently working in Kashmir descended at the temple site and offered prayers there.
