POONCH, Apr 7: District Police Poonch taking firm action, lodged a notorious drug-peddler in Jail under the Provisions of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PITNDPS) Act.
Official said that a notorious drug peddler, Sameer Khan, son of Abdul Rashid Khan, resident of Dabraj, Tehsil Mankote, in District Poonch, has been detained under the PIT NDPS Act and subsequently lodged in District Jail Rajouri today, following the issuance of a valid detention order by the competent authority.
The detention has been executed after a detailed dossier was prepared by District Police Poonch. The dossier established his repeated involvement in illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
His activities were found to be prejudicial to the maintenance of public order and posed a significant threat to public health and safety.
This preventive detention reflects the firm resolve of District Police Poonch to dismantle drug networks and act decisively against habitual offenders involved in narcotics trade.
District Police Poonch reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against the drug menace and affirms that stringent legal action will continue against all individuals engaged in such illegal activities.
