JAMMU, Apr 6: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has constituted a panel headed by the Chief Secretary to finalize the City Gas Distribution (CGD) policy and expansion and of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in the Union Territory.
As per an order, the panel comprised of Administrative Secretaries of Finance, PW(R&B), Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Housing & Urban Development, Industries and Commerce, Labour and Employment, and Rural Development Departments as Members and Additional Secretary to the Government, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department as Member Secretary.
The committee has been tasked with finalizing the Union Territory level City Gas Distribution (CGD) Policy, monitoring implementation of reforms and short-term measures, ensuring effective inter-departmental coordination, facilitating expeditious approvals and removal of bottlenecks, and reviewing the progress of PNG (Pipe Natural Gas) penetration across the Union Territory.
