JAMMU, Apr 6: A general body meeting of Sharda colony residents was held today in which a new team was constituted for the year 2026-2028.
During the elections Avtar Krishan Raina was elected as president, Krishan Ji Koul as vice president, Chaman Lal Bhat as general secretary, Ashok Chrungoo as joint secretary and Prof Satish Talashi as treasurer.
Besides, Kewal Sharma, Ramesh Raina, Vinod Sathoo, P L Bhat and Kuldeep Tickoo were elected as Executive members.
The election was held under the supervision of Dr Ramesh Bhat who acted as Election Authority.
Later the new body appealed the Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and R&B Chief Engineer to renovate the lanes and drains in the area. They also demanded immediate reconstruction of damaged link road from Ranbir Canal to Sharda Colony and laying of slab on drainage nullah near Saraswati Vihar temple which is in precarious condition.
