RAMBAN, Apr 6: Police here today seized heroin and arrested one person in this regard
Cops from Police Station Banihal during routine checking at T-Chowk on National Highway 44 intercepted a person and during his search, contraband substance suspected to be heroin, weighing approximately 29.46 grams was recovered.
The accused was identified as Rameez Raja, son of Mohammad Ashraf Mir, a resident of Harri Bala, Treham, District Kupwara.
In this regard, an FIR with No. 56/2026 has been registered at Police Station Banihal under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act and investigation started.
